Life Drawings for Sale & Suggestions Taking Care of Original Art

0082

If you’ve been to my website in this past year, you will be familiar with these. This is my life drawing works from the past year. I’m looking to sell the ORIGINALS. If you’re interested in buying any of these (or any art for that matter), use this contact form on my site.

Here are prices, which DO NOT include shipping. When contacting me, be prepared to give me your address so I can calculate shipping and bill an all inclusive invoice. The paired images – I suggest you buy them together as a set because they go together, and I will prioritize people who want to buy sets.

About the work

Originals are all on 9″x12″ watercolour paper done with fade proof watercolours. They are unframed– BUT you can find inexpensive frames of these dimensions in most stores for very, very cheap (Amazon – $5-10). It’s not worth getting custom framing for this unless you’re going all the way and getting these vacuum sealed with UV protected glass. I suggest a slightly larger white frame for the lighter pieces, and a larger dark frame for ones with more black.

Here are a few quicker sketches. These have more irregular dimensions and might need to be trimmed down, but they are all done on the same paper with the same watercolours. These would be nice pieces for small area decorations, like a small bathroom or space in the kitchen.

Colour on the portrait?

I figure I should it wrap it up with this portrait I’ve been doing, right? I finished it – added some colour. I’m gonna be a jerk and make you click a link to go see it instead of posting it here. If ya check my website regularly, you’dve (Nova Scotian grammar for ya) seen it already!!

SPEEDPAINT VIDEO

C’est fini! Actually, not really, my Digital Painting teacher, Jeevan Dhamindra, pointed out some lighting mistakes I should change. I’ll post an update, and you guys can compare and see the difference in fixing subtle mistakes. I’m a huge advocate for attention to detail. Eitherway, here is a speeeddddpaaaintt videeeeo!!!!! I made of this. First one ever. Watch it and share it, I’ll love you.

Sketches

I’m back logged in the amount of photos I took from the last project. I’d be a total turd if I pretended that wasn’t already done. It’s on my website and also at hexsystem.com, where the album is available.

I haven’t used my tablet much in a while, and I think I honestly haven’t figured it out that well yet – just drawing more random, mindless stuff I’m less attached to (than my comic, let’s say) to get out some kinks. I think I’m getting a hang of how I want the brush tool to work for line art.

If anyone can answer this question for me: How do you deal with resolution when you are creating a piece you want to be able to print large? As an old timer that’s used to working on paper, I have a hard time grasping how this works with print. I noticed it’s hard/impossible to use brushes when the file is large and high resolution, because it’s a lot on the computer to use a 300 size brush and store all that in the memory. Is it possible to work at a smaller (proxy) size and scale it up when done? How does that work?
