WIP Montreal from Mont Royal during Sunset – 9 & Final Image

0200

Here is the last stage of this image before the tape comes off. I wonder why I never take a photo of that step? It’s very enjoyable to watch.

City’s all painted in, the trees are at their last stage and drying…The sky I haven’t touched in a long time, but it’s done.

So, what’s left to do is refer you to the final image. Here it is.

Welcome! & Final Ballerina Image

I’d like to welcome everyone to my “new” blog, which is just my old blog off Blogger rehosted on WordPress. I hope everyone sees improvements. If you enjoy this blog and want to stay on top of it, subscribe by email or subscribe to one of my social media accounts (recommend Twitter/FB). This blog will auto post to social media and send out of a feed of updates to subscribed email addresses. Likewise, I hope the functionality of it is better in general.

As mentioned in my last post on Blogger, I will be getting a major surgery done beginning of next month and will not be working on art for likely 3-6 months. This is a surgery my whole life has been building to. It’s a total hip replacement to replace my non-existent right hip after osteoarthritis. For those who know me – yes, I’m in my 20s, and this is my life… So, I’m lining up a series of posts that are backlogged to keep ya’ll entertained, but I thought it’s worth mentioning because sometimes I get asked if I still do art after disappearing off the internet for a while. Also, if there was ever a time you wanted to show your support by buying a print or original from me, this is a great time as I won’t be able to work and make any money.

I’d also like to introduce my new print shop: I now have an account on INPRNT, which is a printing company paying the highest returns to artists. I am also impressed with their higher level of scrutiny of who can join, so the site is generally of higher quality and less hipster, commercial products.  You may also notice the prices are lower (for smaller prints anyway), which is something people have complained about for Society6. Please note, INPRNT is shipping from the US, and you probably have to pay a customs fee for your print. Read More

“Montreal Fall Wind” WIP08 – Final Image

So here’s the last image – inking. Yeah, OMG, I actually stopped to take a photo this time. The top section took about 3 or 4 layers to finish with that blue. //
Voici, la dernière image – encrer. Cette fois, je me suis souvenu à prendre une photo du processus. La partie en haut à pris environ 3 ou 4 couches d’avoir cette bleue.

0120No point to hold off: here is the final image. Merch here and here.

Avatar Korra and Raava WIP7 – The Final Image

0110Here’s the next layer of watercolour I added. I believe I also went over the whole figure again with watercolour because everything wasn’t quite dark enough. Tried to add more salt effects after adding this layer over the nice previous layer, but apparently there is a limit of how much salt you can use since eventually… things just get too salty. This is something I actually learn later on another drawing I’ll be posting.

Just to wrap it up, here’s the final step: removed the latex off the image.

0111If you’re interested in buying this as the original, it’s 9″x 12″ on 140lb watercolour paper; please send me an email.

Likewise, I have some prints I am selling at cons and events that I made. They are available in my store. They’re about 11″x14″ on great paper.

Archival quality prints with frames and then other merchendise on Society6 of course.

Huge variety of phone and other device cases and covers on Nuvango.

My last point of promotional maintenance is that I finally made a Facebook page. Ok, maybe if you snooped around, you would have found my old Facebook page, which was kind of embarrassing.I deleted it. This is the official one. Facebook following is good when you tend to forget about the majority of the internet (like me). It also has my store built into it. As always, you can find me anywhere online with the “artkarolina” alias. There’s not much on the page yet, but I hope I see some new followers so I have someone to post for. This is also better than trying to friend me, because I don’t really want everyone mixed in with my personal life too.

WIP Drowning panel EP1 – Finished

Here’s the final image with inks… yeah sorry, it’s just kind of done. I’m not really happy with how the white turned out and some of the black in the hair, but it’s kind of too late to fix it. I’m happy with the image as a whole though.

I enjoy how well my masking tape worked! I guess as a tip – leave the paper near some heat so the glue in the tape can really get tacky. There’s not much of a worry of it getting too sticky because the quality in tape has gone down over the years (YEAH I NOTICED). You’d have to leave it on for months to really ruin paper.

HERE ARE PRINTS FOR THOSE INTERESTED! Please also keep an eye on my Inprnt account.
